"Hills Like White Elephants"

Hemingway's use of dialogue in "Hills Like White Elephants" contributes to the tone of the story. Although we never hear what the discussion is about, we learn a lot about the relationship between the girl and the American based on the tone, setting, and spare details.

Please comment on what you see as the main conflict in the story. Your comment should be between 5-7 sentences. When you reference the story, place quotation marks around it.

Welcome back!!

Hello class of 2015!! I'm thrilled to be your AP Literature teacher this year. I know we're going to have a lot of fun reading and writing and talking about all different kinds of literature this year. It's going to be a lot of work, but I know you are all up to the challenge!

You will be doing assignments on this blog, so familiarize yourself with it and get used to checking in.

I hope you enjoyed Frankenstein...don't worry if it was a little difficult, we'll be talking about it a bunch.

Never, ever hesitate to ask a question, in class or privately. I'm counting on all of you to be open with me about this course.

Ta ta for now,

Ms. Delman
